About the café
Café da Poesia is a literary coffee shop tucked into the lanes of Gigóia Island. Books, plants and outdoor tables make a place designed for sitting down without rushing, drinking a well-made coffee and staying a while.
The house is known for breakfast and brunch: breads, scrambled eggs, medialunas with dulce de leche, homemade cakes and a pastry counter that changes through the week. There are also specialty coffees, cappuccinos and fresh juices.
It is a few minutes by boat from Barra da Tijuca and one of the first stops for anyone arriving on the island in the morning — pair the visit with a late-afternoon boat ride around the lagoon.

Before or after your meal you can take the Carioca Pantanal boat tour, among caimans, capybaras and mangroves — 35 to 40 minutes, with an executive lunch included. The tour on its own is R$ 50.
