About the Stay
Babel is a ten-suite guest house known for its hand-made décor, built from reclaimed materials and repurposed objects. Every corner has its own colour, and nothing here feels like an ordinary hotel.
Sustainability is not a slogan here: a green roof, an organic vegetable garden and careful use of water and energy were part of the project from the start. Continental breakfast is included, and the house has its own bar and a garden deck on the Tijuca Lagoon. Guests tend to say the same thing — it stops feeling like Rio.

Good to know: the island is reached only by boat, from the pier opposite Jardim Oceânico metro station. Let the house know your arrival time in advance so the crossing can be arranged. Babel also has resident cats.
